Cars, Cars, Cars....Monterey Car Week, US!

Ma favorite of the collections, BENTLEY...cars for the senior "men"

This week's gallery is all about Monterey Car Week, a series of events and exhibits in and around the coastal California city 100 miles south of San Francisco. First up: Bentley's unveiling of its EXP 9 F SUV concept in Pebble Beach. Marvelous!

A Scot in India commissioned this 1910 "Swan Car," also on display in Pebble Beach. It emits steam from its beak and even harmless, faux guano from behind. Oh, and piano-like keys can play melodies through its horn. We can't make this stuff up, folks.

The “Swan” was accompanied by this “Cygnet,” or baby swan, built about 1920 in India. This is another exhibit at the Pebble Beach event, known as the Concours d'Elegance.

Design house Bertone showed off its 2012 Nuccio concept at Car Week's Concorso Italiano, a show of Italian cars in Monterey itself.
Concorso! Italian masterpiece

Here, a line of Italian supercars.

Lamborghini unveiled its first SUV concept the Urus at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, in Carmel, another Monterey neighbor hosting a Car Week event.

This 1948 Lloyd Templeton Mercury Saturn “Bob Hope” Roadster (wiith a long nose, just like Bob's) was also displayed there.

Also at Carmel: Margaret Dunning, 102, shows off a 1930 Packard. Dunning, who bought it in the 1940s, owns six cars -- and, yes, she still drives!

This parade of rare Shelby Cobras at The Quail honored Carroll Shelby, the auto industry icon who died earlier this year. Edsel Ford, great grandson of Henry Ford, was a passenger in the first Cobra.

John Wiser of Winter Park, Fla., shows off his British-made 1982 Reliant at a Car Week event in Seaside. The odd-looking car is “actually, very stable,” he reports.
Ladies what would you say if "HE" turns up in this? hahaha

Gregory Frey of Honolulu shows off his pink 1974 Volkswagen Thing at Seaside's gathering of odd cars called the Hagerty Tour of Lemons.

Lips sealed and yes its a Volkswagen!

hmmmm....whats your favourite car amongst all? Be a sport, leave a comment. Ciao!
